How we got engaged

Will has never been able to keep a surprise for very long; consequently, sitting with an engagement ring in his possession was not going to last for so long.  After hearing that her mom seemed to approve of him, Will decided that if his parents warmed up to her that he would pop the question.  During her first trip to Ohio, Jill came to Athens to spend a few days.  One night, after a busy day of teaching, Will and Jill went back to his apartment to relax.  Jill jumped in the shower while Will went back to the office to "get some papers."  In reality, Will went back to get her ring and assure that his plans were in motion.  Before he left, he left Jill a text message telling her to get dressed casually because he wanted to go for a walk.  Sadly, Jill found the message to be a little cryptic and had to be reassured that everything was OK.  After taking a walk around the College Green, Jill and Will sat down on the swing on the porch of 35 Park Place and swung.  After about fifteen minutes, Will found the courage and asked Jill to be his wife and let him take care of her forever.
